Daisy reader testing notes 05 June 2013
Simple Mode and Visual Mode are not reachable using the trackball (Nexus One)
The player seems to load the wrong book e.g. one in russian even when I picked
the Romanian book.
The search of the SD Card took about a minute on the Nexus One
Replace the No audio found [OK] dialog with one that explains the end of the
book has been reached (assuming that's what's happened). This appears twice and
stops the playing of the book. I think some of the audio files are missing. The
app should be more informative about what's missing and what the user can do
next e.g. skip to next section.
I need better test materials.
Test Ideas:
Test with books that have missing / corrupt files.
Test more of the encodings to make sure the device can parse the various
encodings appropriately.
Provide identical sets of test files and run performance tests in parallel
across various Android devices. Measure the performance and latency of
user-centric activities. Assess the consistency of the media player in
delivering the audio and synchronising the text on screen.
Use a variety of memory cards of different speeds and see what impact the speed
has.
Test with 1 book, several books, many books. Test with zipped and unpacked
content and compare the performance (on identical SD cards).
