The current Alpha of the new DaisyReader app remains in Portrait mode
regardless of the orientation of the device.
Users may want to use the app in Landscape mode e.g. on a tablet device.
Users may also want the ability to rotate the device to change the orientation
while they are using the new app.
There are various technical challenges if we want to support changes to
orientation while users are using the app. These include:
* dealing with long running requests such as downloading content within the app (see https://code.google.com/p/android-daisy-epub-reader/issues/detail?id=65 )
* audio playback and content synchronisation
* pauses or glitches in the self-voicing
We need to carefully consider the design and implementation of the app if we
decide to add the ability for users to rotate the UI while using the app.
The core story is to enable users to select their preferred orientation when
the app starts.
We will consider whether to add the ability to adapt the UI based on the
current rotation of the device.
