help, i am using ubuntu 12.04 to run the LKB, but i have a problem,

1) when i run sudo ./LKB without connecting the kinect, the lkb program runs
o.k and loads up the interface but It doesnt detect the kinect when i connect
it after it has loaded.

2)when i connect the kinect first and then run sudo ./LKB, it fails to load up
the lkb interface

I have installed all the necessary programs and files.

Hi, you should not start lkb as root (dont use sudo). The interface should
start even when the camera is not detected. If you are using a kinect for
windows it probably will not work. What error do you get when kinect is
connected?

Hi, thanks for the response,
If i don't use sudo i get this error.

./LKB: error while loading shared libraries: libOpenNI.so: cannot open shared
object file: Permission denied

when i run the LKB (with sudo) with the kinect connected i get this error.

Failed to enumerate production trees
CONTEXTOS : 0

.It is very frustrating because it works perfectly on my desktop running ubuntu
12.04 (i use sudo command as well..it runs fine) , but i have tried running it
on my laptop with ubuntu 12.04 and it has completely failed.

when i do lsusb i get this result..

hi, i found out the problem was the gspca_kinect module. I had to disable it.
LKB is runnung but now i have another problem. The LKB is not calibrating. i
have followed all the instructions, the final blob image looks great it can
recognize my fingers but when i try to calibrate via touch extractor and TUOI
sender how ever much i place my finger on the calibration points it does
nothing..

Good to know you made the camera work!. About the calibration, did you follow
the on screen instruction? (press s to start calibration after selecting
rectangle). If you did, what calib parameters are you using? (maybe attach a
screenshot).
