New Suggestion: Cycling icons #25

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

Hi, Nico!

I have new category suggestion: "Bike Icons":

This is for group icons like that:

- First category hill. (A 1 inside a circle...)
- Second category hill. (A 2 inside a circle...)
- Thirth category hill. (A 3 inside a circle...)
- Sprint point. (A S inside a circle...)
- etc...

like you can see in any profile of a byke race like Tour de France:

http://www.letour.fr/PHOTOS/TDF/2009/1700/CARTEVIGNETTE.gif

You are agree with that?

I do the icons and send you?

What colour for background?

Regards!

Here is!

6 new icons:

1) First category hill.
2) Second category hill.
3) Thirth category hill.
4) Fourth categoryt hill.
5) "Hors Categorie" hill (It's an special climb, their name is based in the
tour du
france...)
6) Sprint point.
7) Avituallament point.

In this last two icons i use a cycling person symbol and a letter, because if i
use
another symbol, like the knife and fork, the symbol is going to be very complex
and
impossible to draw.

Regards, JOIN!

Change in 5) "Hors Categorie" hill icon...
I was thinking that "HC" expression will not be very universal....
In Spain, we talk about "Categoria ESPECIAL", in English "Special Category"....

In conclusion, i think it's better to name "Special Category" and use a "S" to
define the symbol.

I attach the new symbol, erase the hors symbol...

Nice !
I designed some of the mountains icons.

But I think we need to rearrange "Avituallament" and "Special Category
(Mountain)".

- Avituallament : a bike with a fork and a knife. (like the icon used in
letour.fr)
- Special Category (Mountain) : I made some searches. Hors-Catégorie (HC),
Uncategorized (UC), and Category H (H) are all used internationnaly. I wouldn't
use a
S for Special Category.

What do you think ? :)

Hi, Nico.

Here in Spain doesn't use "HC" .... Use "E" ("Especial").... Hors-Catégorie is
in
french...,because of this i propose the S....

In another hand, my bike friends says that they understand HC or S.... and
understand "E".... why can we do? What do you think?

About the "Avituallament"...

Here i follow the french word.... because i try to put a bike, with the fork
and the
knife and the icon becomes all white! :)
It's too full.... if you can draw i use your icon! :P

Still thinking about it!

I will try something for Avituallament.

For the mountains, the searches I made in english (I am french, by the way),
made me
think "Uncategorized" (UC) is a better and most used term.

I will create a UC mountain icon, but you are free to design another "E" or "S"
mountain icon, especilly if your site is in spanish only :)

Keep in touch

Hi, Nico.
My site is multilingual, and i want to get an universal icon.
For HC, or Special is for a climb than is hard than a 1rst climb, than is
different
than a "Uncategorized" that for me means than nobody has determinated before
what
kind of climb is.
Here is the meaning: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hors_Categorie

Well, i don't know what to do.... :P
For the followers of the Tour de France (like me), we know what means when i
see an
HC icon, but for Spanish or English person that only see the race inside their
country.... doesn't understand the icon.... but if they see an E or an S...
they
understand more quickly.... well.... what do you think about?

Still in contact!

Regards!

Ok, I think that we can do the two icons, and everyone can use the two.

Here are!

Now we have 7/8 completed.

Have any idea or progress with "Avituallament"?

Regards!
