[Feature Request] Phone number change #1439

It would be great to have an option to change user's phone number, as described in: https://telegram.org/faq#q-how-do-i-change-my-phone-number

Does Telegram Desktop support this feature?

It does, since v 1.0.26 (30.03.17) https://desktop.telegram.org/changelog

API seems to have the metod changePhone for this feature.

This is a current problem for me. I have been using the telegram web app for a couple of years and just got my first android phone which has a different phone number. I'd like to use the telegram android app, but since all I have is the web app, which does not seem to offer phone number changes, I can't figure out how to do it. I'd be interested in workarounds if the web app will not soon provide this feature.

@bhaugen easy. 1. Install Telegram app in your phone. 2. Register using your OLD phone number. You get the activation code on Telegram web app. 3. Perform the phone number change on the Android app. Voila.
