Hello. Are there any plans to upgrade the web version to the application level?

@Aokromes the screenshot by @user4302 comes from the changelog file. Version 0.7, which is still the current version, was apparently released in 2017. The changelog is also directly linked in the "About" section of the menu in the web interface. Therefore it is natural for people to believe that this project is dead. That was also my first reaction when clicking on the "Changelog" button in the web interface.

So it would be good if the version number was bumped every time a new release is pushed to the hosted servers, and the changelog would be updated based on that. Not only in the current situation people think it is abandoned. It also makes it harder for more tech-savvy people to understand what code is running in their browser. How can I know which commit is available on web.telegram.org, if the version number is still the one from 2017? How can I know which of the latest improvements pushed on this repo are actually available on the servers?

Also, considering how many of the recent features of Telegram are not supported, it seems only natural that people think this project is abandoned. Is there any timeline for adding these features? Are there technical challenges preventing that from happening, or just a lack of manpower and time? If it's a manpower issue, are you looking for contributors to help implement those features?

I'm looking to do some UI upgrades to the project to make it closer align with desktop and mobile apps. I've opened https://github.com/zhukov/webogram/pull/2096 to updated the colors to the current branding to test the waters on if the owners are accepting outside contributions.

If it goes through I'll continue to modernise the UI and bring it to where the other apps currently are.

@lodo1995 has basically elaborated on what i wanted to say, quite perfectly.

apart from the ui differences, the functionality itself seems very outdated. my archived chats arent even archived on the web version. it looks like its abandoned...

im guessing that it is possible to make my own version to my liking, but then ill have to have it as a desktop application, and i want a web version...

@user4302 you can have your own version as a web version as well, it just won't have the official domain. And no expensive hosting needed, as it would have no backend, only frontend. Definitely something to consider doing as a useful side project.
