Doesn't open

Your app is realy great but since the release of the 0.15.× versions block launcher didn't open. Sometimes it does open but my skin would be removed(back to the Steve skin) and if I wanted to change it it will crash, plus it will also crash if I wanted to add a mod. Please fix this!!!

i don't understand why these mods and launchers are such crap to work with. i would gladly pay someone just to put a "furniture mod" on my granddaughters MCPE...she wants the furniture so bad and i can't figure it out. Why doesnt it work...and how could I get back the old Minecraft, i don't like this new v.15...sucks with out the mods...simple as that...so how much do you want $ 50.00-100.00?

Who are these guys on YouTube explaining their Mods and how they work? I would like to ask them, "HOW?" How do you make these mods work? If it works for one person, it should work for all!.Maybe Monjong made the .15 version so Mods wouldn't work, because people keep coming to them with their mod problems and Monjong didn't make them. it's like they don't want anything to do with Mods unless THEY make it...Their loosing money...Get it?

Please close this, it has not been updated yet. It is being worked on. There are a few betas floating around, but they are incomplete. @captphrank I'm sorry you think the mod and launchers are crap. You are free to not use them. No one is forcing you to use it. As I just pasted, it takes time to update. 0.15 added a lot of things that are very different under the hood, even though most only see that "pistons" were added. There is now XBox login and other things that need to be attended to. If you needed to have that mod on there, you should not have updated to 0.15.3. You can also try Toolbox by MrARM, however YMMV as I understand, it does not implement all the ModPE API as of this writing, also that any mod that gets used with Toolbox will be required to be updated for 0.15, which means unless your furniture mod has been updated it probably won't work anyway. The mod author is probably waiting for the release of the launchers so he can see what updates need to be implemented to make the mod functional. For the most part nothing, but if he/she is using an exploit for something (invisible minecart to allow sitting), that probably will need to be updated as those kinds of things are VERY version specific. Keep in mind that there is always a lag between a release and a BL update.

As for who are these guys? They are the people making mods. For instance, all of my mods, except ones that require a texture pack seem to work perfectly fine under the Beta releases of BL coupled with Minecraft 0.15.3. How? They use a specific combination of Minecraft and Block Launcher that is compatible. Had you searched on here at all you probably would have found the chart that I wrote up that shows what versions are compatible from (I think) 0.10.1->0.14.3. For now, only the betas are compatible with 0.15 and they are not fully functional (texture packs and armor are two examples that are not implemented at this time). This also means the beta probably won't work for you as most furniture mods require a texture pack of some kind.

As a side, Mojang in a way promotes the use of mods, you can see that if you did any research on the topic on the Official Minecraft Wiki. There are links on that Wiki to modder tools as well as help and guidance for anyone who IS modding, even down to how to decompile the PC version in order to allow modders to jump in there and really do some great work - or be scared at how certain functions were written. They are in the minority with helping modders compared to most gaming companies (where they have been known to actually SUE modders over copyright infringement).

I also do not believe that you think the furniture mod being on your device is worth $50-100. If it WAS that valuable to you, you would not have just updated, but as with any software update, checked it out or tested it on a second device, or even just waited for everyone else to test it. For now, take this experience as a lesson for the next update and the next time that BL needs to be updated to follow along with MCPE's version updates. For now, tell your granddaughters that they will have to wait. Sometimes you do not get what you want. There are many new features they can play with anyway as well as many ways to create furniture WITHOUT the mod. Grian is a wonderful YouTuber that does AMAZING things with VANILLA Minecraft. He is also very kid friendly. I have no issue with my kids watching his videos. If you really want to pay someone to get that mod running, try craigslist. I'm sure there is a "teen" that can perform that work for you. I participate in a local Minecraft gathering every week and there are MANY talented young men and women that I'm certain would be able to perform the work you are requesting. I am still blown away by how advanced our youth really is regarding technology.

Lastly, again, had you searched you would have found my recommendations on how to revert. Mostly it was you should have backed it up, then use your backup tools to revert. That is the safest. Any other method is a bit shady. The reason, the other method is side-loading...but side-loading what? That's where it gets shady as you will need to get the APK...which you are on your own. I'm not into stealing, good luck.

I was a Programmer long before most of these Mod makers were born I suspect...lol. I have spent a better part of 2 weeks trying to figure these mods out. I have researched, and what I found was there are MANY Minecraft players out there who are in the dark as I'am. I can't get any of the "Furniture" mods to work, or the instant Houses. just like all the other players yelling for Help in all the Forums. All we really want is a word from the Mod developers letting us know ,things will be corrected, patched, enhanced, or whatever. Just be Patient...like this letter you have written to me. it explains everything I needed to know to sit tight and wait....I appreciate your taking the time to do this. I hope others read this so they to will understand that things are being done to FIX this problem. My Granddaughter is going on 6 yrs. old . She's the Family expert on Minecraft. She's making things I never knew were possible with the game....Surely you can see how excited and proud I'am of her, and would do anything to advance her knowledge of Minecraft and anything else she has interest in. A child's interest in ANYTHING, should be augmented . Who knows, my Granddaughter maybe the next Mod programmer making her own Crap. There's that word again. It meant nothing, Really. P.S. I truly was serious about paying someone to show me how mods are uploaded, but it appears that doesn't matter now knowing the Mods that will work, haven't been developed yet.

@captphrank I appreciate the feedback. I wrote such a letter mostly because so far of the last 100+ posts on here, maybe 2 people did not just repeat the same thing "it doesn't work". Had ANYONE of those people looked at ANY of the posts, they would see it doesn't work yet and has been reported. Then posting and marking that thread for priority SHOWS what is important. Instead we get a SEA of the same thing that essentially becomes the Perlin Noise that generates your Minecraft world. That is just how MOST of this group behaves. They are waiting for someone else to tell them what is going on...even though it is POSTED already. For me, I'll stop developing once that becomes too much / annoying for me. I do this for fun and have job. I do not need a second one!

What is funny, all "they" are doing is slowing down the developer because he would have to read all the posts an close them all...which is counter productive to what they want, which is an update sooner than later. Some edicate is missing. The funny thing is, the reason there is NO posts nor information from the developer is probably because of this behavior. He doesn't have time to read and close everything...so this is abandoned until the release. Then, after the release, instead of spending time enhancing things, he spends 2-3 days closing issues. I've offered to moderate, but I think he is too busy to even read direct messages on Twitter. If you want more status / information, as I've posted an alarmingly large amount of times, follow him on Twitter @ zhuowei (no space...I did not put it there so it doesn't tag him in this). I appreciate your situation and as you said, this ENTIRE thing could have been summed up, have patience, sit tight, it's being worked on (although I've tried that a few times and that did not matter either...).

As I have stated, I was a Computer programer for a number of years, many years ago. In fact i wrote programs on IBM punch cards. I Understand the frustrations of writing programs. @zedman2000 If Microsoft in any ways encourages community programming, they should at least work on something more developer-friendly than realms? I agree with most of your points, but it is to my greatest objection that Microsoft encourages people to modify their games.

@boredphoton I'm not sure that I am saying Microsoft is encouraging anything at all. I think because of the roots of Mojang, they basically just turn a blind eye to all of the modding. I believe that Mojang convinces Microsoft to "put up" with this type of use of their software because firstly they still show significant growth in the market and they have probably shown that if there was a hard "everyone stop modding," because of WHERE the roots of this software comes from, a think a LOT of people would just DROP the game. There are starting to be more and more alternatives out there (Terreria, No Man's Sky, Subnautica, Scrolls, and Cobalt to name a few). When people have choice, generally speaking good things happen.

Remember that money drives everything and as long as the modding does not cost anything - that is there is no "lost profits" that Microsoft could claim, and it is shown that through the continuation of allowing such things people keep BUYING the game, there is a good probabbility that a lot of the profits of late is due to there BEING mods. I know for me, I only purchased the game to allow me to mod on it. I find vanilla Minecraft a bit boring. I'm sure if I played more servers I might thing different...but I don't have time for that.

@zedman2000 it was Terraria Zed. And also coding is needed for lives and this creates histories for us and it makes really having a good advantage. Modding isn't make us bored but it make some differences and adding more features to their games, tools and anything else.
