Type: Bug

I've used the bisect feature alongside the activity monitor to narrow down the extension as the culprit for high CPU usage.

Extension version: 1.20.0 VS Code version: Code 1.87.2 (Universal) (863d2581ecda6849923a2118d93a088b0745d9d6, 2024-03-08T15:21:31.043Z) OS version: Darwin arm64 23.0.0 Modes:

Can report I just got the same, it was sneaky as it took a while to ramp up and notice. Wrongly assumed it was a different extension.

I've come from https://github.com/microsoft/vscode/issues/224068 and also identified this extension as the culprit for a high CPU usage. Previously I used it without this problem, so I wonder if it's some regression in VSCode?
