tvOS sound delay adjustment not working / Airplay 2 out of sync #264

In previous releases it was possible to stream audio via Airplay to wireless speakers. Sound delay could be adjusted in Client. Somehow I have the impression that delay adjustment are not working since I cannot notice any improvements. Is this feature broken in latest releases? One additional question: What is the technical reasons that is at all needed? How is it solved in other apps such as Netflix w/o any audio delay adjustments? Automatic Synching video and Airplay 2 audio stream would be a great feature!

I'll make a note to check the sound delay. I haven't touched tvOS version for over a year, so if it broke it must have been broken by tvOS 13/14 implementation!

hello @nairolf-1 there's a very limited amount of people that actually use airplay2 and the audio delay feature. are you able to join discord or report back if the beta fixes this for you ?

Hello, I have the same issue with my 2 Homepods + aTV 4k. I am using all the latest versions of software. I just bought the homepods though so I dont know if it worked in previous versions. I saw multiple apps having issues on reddit (twitch, tvhclient for me).

The aTV has a feature for calibrating audio sync. Is it something the developer should get from the source code of the app to "add" the measured delay?

hey, just subscribe to this thread. I'll update when more info is available. or join discord if you want. I can say that right now there's not going to be any updates because I'm having some personal issues and I don't have access to any hardware at all - I would say around february onwards we might have an update

Hi, here I have the same issue with an AppleTV with two homepods as default audio device. The first channel you chose is ok (although sometimes the pitch changes slowly with the time). When you change the channel, there is a delay, sounds is behind 1 sec more or less

Hi all, i am also having issues using two homepods on a appletv-4k. Sound gets out of sync or sounding like chipmunks. Using kodi as backend works. Has anybody found a fix? Can we support error diag?
