Dear visitors and users of JATE,

Over the last few years we are absolutely thrilled and grateful by your continued interest and support for JATE such as increasing downloads, citations, bug reports/fixing, and further development/customisation activities on GitHub. Thanks to you, we are seeing JATE become one of the most popular tools for Automatic Term Extraction and Text Mining in general.

However, as you all know, JATE is far from perfect. Over the years, we have received numerous valuable suggestions on how to improve JATE and take it further. Some of these have been implemented, but most have not. As much enthusiastic and willing as you are to make these happen, we developers are a very small team and have to prioritise other jobs that we are employed for - JATE is maintained free but we struggle finding spare time to provide quality maintenance of the tool, for which we apologise.

Therefore, we seek your support:

Therefore, please support us by sharing your stories and ideas on this issue or by email. Your continued support is the only power to drive JATE further!

Thank you for reading this message.

Hi JATE Team..

You have done a very brilliant work over here, and we can see the continuous efforts for making JATE even better. I found the Examples and benchmarking page very useful, but I suggest, if possible, to provide the user with a quick start for each of the use cases listed on that page. This will help interested people be more directed and more useful regarding giving the correct feedback and we might also provide you with our experience using JATE for that specific scenario. I know it is bloody difficult to save extra free time to enrich the documentation but this might help us enrich your documentation further as well.

Thanks again for all the brilliant work you have done. Wish you all the best in what you're doing. Hats off to every contributor, making JATE what it is today!

Kind Regards

Thank you Raniem, your feedback is very much appreciated. Indeed it would be also very useful to compile a list of features that users would like to see developed, I have added this to that list...

I would very much like to know your specific use case. Do you mind drop me an email at your convenience so we can have a bit more chat? GitHub does not support PM so feel free to use my email ziqi.zhang@sheffield.ac.uk

Many thanks!

Hi Ziqizhang. Thanks for your reply. I will surely do. Regarding the use cases, I am interested in, they are mainly use cases 7 and 3. I am researching what could be the best way to represent knowledge in a very noisy corpus and I started receiving very promising results using your C-value implementation. I was excited that you have the use case 7 listed in your examples and would love to discover JATE's capabilities in this regard.

Thanks!
