[NOTICE] SD.Next/Vladmandic WebUI Support #71

Open zixaphir opened 5 months ago

If you are using Vladmandic's Stable Diffusion WebUI fork, please be aware that support is limited. While I personally agree with a lot of the things Vladmandic's fork strives for, my attempts to use it have not resulted in it becoming my personal daily driver. While I have occasionally implemented minor fixes for simple issues in the past with this extension on Vladmandic's fork, I currently consider using this extension with Vladmandic's fork to be an unsupported use-case.

I welcome users of Vladmandic to submit pull requests to fix issues they run into if they use this extension with on Vladmandic, but my personal involvement will likely be minimal when it comes to resolving these issues. This is not something I want to write, because I love when things just work for everyone, but my focuses have shifted as of late and it would be better for me to support the intended use-case of this extension rather than half-assing trying to support an interface I don't even use.

For some reason vlad and his devs are trying TOO HARD to be "unique", which just results in a lot of frustration. Their fork is so good, but the UI ruins it all and when you post the slightest critics on the UI they will just tell you to fuck off and use other forks. Like just look at how they enforce their version of ControlNet which looks complete trash.

I considered airing some of my complaints in my original post, but I would honestly prefer not to throw stones. That said, a large part of the reason I posted this is because I tried to solve an issue between this extension and it and I never got further than the assumption that the root cause is a difference in the implementation of the user interface. I have no idea how to work around this and it only seems to affect this extension. I do appreciate Vlad's wiki about extensions, which I have used to try to improve this extension in general, since I largely was following the example of other existing extensions when I started maintaining this, because it pointed out a few simple things I could do to improve performance, like restructuring the extension directories to reduce preload time. I just don't know what to do to fix drop downs not auto-populating despite my attempts to do so. My only idea is to try to write a JavaScript shim that, which I don't consider to be acceptable. So that's where I'm at

So I am trying to get the Extra Network icons to show in SD Next, and was wondering if that is just considered broken won't fix for SD-Next or if I am missing something. I found in one of the forks this discussion: https://github.com/butaixianran/Stable-Diffusion-Webui-Civitai-Helper/issues/206 that links to this fork. And when installing via the extension browser it looks like this is the default version it grabs. Is it not possible to get the SD-Next version to have the extra icons? Am I possibly missing some ui config settings to enable it?
