symbols followed by ' are not detected correctly

For example $\phi=0$ displays correctly $\phi(x)=0$ also, but $\phi'(x)=0$ gets displayed wrong in the sense that the \phidoesn't get detected.

The culprit is syntax table for latex-mode and AUCTeX: these modes considers the quote (or prime) character ' to be a word forming character. This seams reasonable as in text-mode this is also the case: this way text editing and functions work as expected. However LaTeX interprets ' as a delimiter in commands.

I am no emacs hacker so I do not know if this is possible:

• In math mode make ' to be a se (a little bit ad-hoc since actually LaTeX interprets ' as punctuation after macros even outside math mode)
• Wrap the macro detection function in a temporary syntax table where ' is a punctuation character.
• Artificially allow a ' after macros in the detection regexp (seems extremely dirty).
