So I'm playing WildNature on 1.12.2 and I love the custom biomes, but mobs of any kind are spawning in the custom biomes, to the point where I found a spawner in a land of rivers biome, and it did not spawn. I'm assuming this is unintentional, and I'm not sure if you still update the 1.12.2 version, but I just thought you should know.
