I encountered a few boars in the 1.12.2 version. I was playing on peaceful mode. The first time I saw a boar, I went up to it to see what it was, and I think it left me alone, but I can't remember. I went back to exploring, and I found two more in the same deciduous forest. Again, I was playing in peaceful mode, so they crowded me, presumably trying to attack me. They kept doing this for a little while, and then the game crashed.
