No visual bookmarks #271

Describe the bug With the update of nightTab all my existing bookmarks are not visual anymore. If I add a new bookmark this one is also not visual. I can not press on any of my not visual bookmarks. The only way to open my bookmarks is to press open all next to the group title.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. NightTab
  2. Add a new Bookmark
  3. See error

Expected behavior If i want to add a new bookmark I want nightTab to visualy show my safed bookmark. Also I don't want any of my excisting bookmarks to get lost, when nightTab is releasing a new update... took me quite a while to collect them

Hi, sorry you are experiencing this issue. This is very unusual. Can you share your backup file for me to investigate why this might be happening please? You can export a backup using the Backup Data steps.

Thanks for sharing the backup JSON. I think I know what the bug is. Seems some special characters in bookmark names are tripping up one of the new modules. The name Wolfram|Alpha has a | in it, which is also used in a module to make bookmark tiles. I'm sorry you got hit with this unintentional bug.

I've got a fix in the works and will release it as soon as I can.

Until then, you could run the following snippet in your console to remove the | character and nightTab should work as normal:

  1. How to open Firefox console.
  2. Copy all of the code below and paste it into Firefox's console
  3. Press enter to run the snippet
