3 years ago Hi, thanks for the detailed issue. It sounds like you are looking for the Data controls found under Settings menu (gear icon) > Data > Backup

You will lose your set up unless you backup your setup using the Data controls. This will give you a backup JSON file you can use to restore your set up. Details on this can be found on the Data backup and restore wiki page.
Syncing data has been investigated and it is proving difficult for now.

What kind of feature request is this? --- Straightforward NightTab settings backup (cloud or local machine) for the end user.
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. --- I have to reinstall Chrome since it's not updating automatically. Will I have to reinstall and reconfigure my nightTab from scratch or is there a backup of my settings, color scheme, etc. from which it can be restored as it was?
Describe the solution you'd like --- I would like to be sure my settings are backed up somewhere before I remove and reinstall Chrome (or Firefox). Alternatively, that I can load them from where they are stored on my machine to restore my nightTabs. Ideally: that my nightTab is fully restored automatically after reinstalling Chrome or Firefox. Can this apply also to my installations on other machines? i.e. Every time I install any of these browsers on a PC or laptop, my nightTab extension configs, when enabled, are also loaded as they were, even as a profile I can choose from a saved user list (color scheme, etc. for each machine)?
Describe alternatives you've considered --- Cloud or local machine automatic and confirmed backups for the common end user.
