AnnoTate log in possibly not working #188

Just saw this on Talk from a user:

I have been having no success logging in on AnnoTate, which may be why I'm getting the same pages I transcribed yesterday. I understand giving the same work to several people for verification, but I do mind a bit having them to do again myself!

I did a password change to make sure this wasn't a pinkware error, and can (obviously) log in to Zooniverse, but the AnnoTate site still says I have the wrong username and/or password. My login doesn't "hold" when I go from the Zooniverse Projects page to Annotate, either, which would seem like logical link.

Could be related to this from Ed, apparently OAuth doesn't work on Safari:

Hey breifly saw something about this, but since the current OAuth login method doesn't seem to work on Safari, AnnoTate could use the https://github.com/doorkeeper-gem/doorkeeper/wiki/Using-Resource-Owner-Password-Credentials-flow to do its authentication.

Or we could do the same thing as WildCam, apparently.

In any case, login state isn't shared between AnnoTate and Zooniverse because they're on different domains.

? I don't see anything after this: . I know that there were zoowide problems earlier, but Darren's post seemed to suggest they were cleared up....

I've assembled a document with login error reports over the past few days, four of them (the first four) are AnnoTate related:

It sounds like there's something where AnnoTate is sometimes trying to fetch (and failing to fetch) an avatar, and blocking login if it can't find one?
