"New Locale" doesn't seem to work #10

A new Japanese translator (Naofumi - who has been translating the Galaxy Zoo Android app via Transifex) just let me know that he tried to create a new Japanese locale, then translated some strings, but then couldn't see his work again when going back to the site.

I've confirmed this. For instance:

  1. Go to http://translations.zooniverse.org/#/projects/galaxy_zoo
  2. Click the "New Locale" button, enter "Japanese", and then select it from the (single-item) list. (A rather obscure way to say "Yes, I mean Japanese" if you don't see that it's a list, by the way).
  3. You'll then see the ToDo translations, though "Japanese" doesn't appear in the list so it's not selected, so it's not clear what locale we might really be translating.

I haven't tried this with other locale names because I don't want to make a mess of your database.

I tried again with Japanese today, translating the "Loading..." string based on the translation in the android-galaxyzoo app. It does seem to have been saved, though Japanese still doesn't appear in the list of locales, and I have to "create" the locale again to get back to Japanese.

I think this would be much clearer if the locale was part of the URL.

I noticed today that Japanese is finally listed, so maybe some attempt finally worked, or maybe it was manually added by an administrator?
