the annotations don't seem to be saving properly and I'm getting the following error:

I'm on my home computer but connected through the VPN.

that just looks like a 404 on a missing resource, what does the network tab look like?

I think that was the network tab I gave error2

right sorry - so that get on a missing resource won't affect behaviour for saving annotations. Any errors in the console tab? what url / steps to reproduce?

I'm getting the error just by loading the annotation page. The transcription page just hangs. Probably not much help but the console output is: error3

If I had to guess, I'd say Angular isn't correctly interpolating a url somewhere

annotation page worked for me when i selected the first voyage, http://demo.zooniverse.org/oldweather/#/annotate/2369/

Greg clear you local storage cache...and try again.

not sure exactly how to clear cache - went to incognito mode and am still getting the same error (this is on Chromium) error5

Also getting it with Firefox error4

Will check on a Mac in a minute

Tried with a Mac (just booted up too so hopefully no cache to begin with) and tried with Safari: screen shot 2015-08-14 at 10 39 12

I can't reproduce at all..i've submitted annotations just fine this morning and the page works for me. Maybe something else is afoot here...
