What does participant count mean? #69

Why are there only 200ish participants worldwide when more than 3000 people have visited the site today? Is that just the true ratio (very unusual)? What is that a count of?

It's logged in classifying users.

Then it should say 'registered participants' or something. Or the number should reflect all users. The two homepage numbers will grow increasingly disproportionate otherwise.
