Well. You could take it a bit further and turn off logging per default.
I mean, who digs in their block log for a hobby? I never did and it's usually
the
first thing I turn off. The last 11 entries in the main window are completely
enough
to work with for me.
As long as you can still turn it back on...

It does come in handy for troubleshooting purposes however. Especially since
both
peerblock.log and history.db follow the same rules...

If you assume that everyone wants to "shoot troubles" that is true ;)
My guess is that 95% of computer owners simply want "stuff that works" and
requires
"no maintenance" (we know that it requires ultra-hard work to make stuff work
flawlessly and that no maintenance at all is close to delusional, but that's
how it
is). My bottom line (and estimation) is: 95% of all PeerBlock users just want
it to
work. If they wanted to be beta testers, they would have signed up long ago (and
still can).

Agreed - however when people come to us saying "hey, it's broken, fix it!",
it's nice
to be able to say "um, could you send us the logfiles so we can figure out what
happened?".
I could be convinced to default it to "Delete every 1 (or 2) days", but
wouldn't want
to completely disable this by default. Too many people ask too many questions
on
various forum sites (and via email) that can only be resolved by going through
these
logs. So long as we can make it as least intrusive as possible, I'd like to
leave
'em active.
