Not quite realistic, as the distance between asteroids is often millions of miles. Other than that I have no issues with this.
OF course the size of the asteroids would have to be very much smaller for this to happen, we can try something.
NMS also use asteroids like that.
GT, while the distance between asteroids may be millions of miles, Hellion isn't at the same scale as our solar system. You'd have to apply the same scaling to the distance between asteroids.
Maybe, instead of asteroid belts, Add a few planetary rings? Usually the density of asteroids in those is quite high, and can A) Fulfill the visual desire while B) keeping things in line with realistic orbital mechanics.

Describe the solution you'd like Asteroid belts like in Star Citizen, where there's many asteroids in a small area to the point where you can see several to several hundred asteroids while at another asteroid, rather than the current and very lackluster implementation of asteroids.
