REST JSON seems to be their main endpoint these days, and it would fix this (superseding #3374).

Sure, if there's no rate-limiting issue.

It's been a couple of years, but last time I checked there were data limitations in the CrossRef JSON, specifically as it is used for chapters and other non-journal works.
