Translators from the official repo repo are pushed to Zotero clients pretty much instantly as they become available, and the Connector updates every 24 hours, but you can manually update the translators via the Connector preferences.
We're also planning to speed up the Zotero Connector's updates so that translators are available in the Connector within a few minutes of their release as well. This just shouldn't be an issue unless you're distributing translators yourself, and that's not a use case we would design around.
I am a Translator developer, and due to changes in website APIs and page styles, I occasionally receive feedback from users that the translator is not working properly. I need to tirelessly inform users to update the translator to the latest version. However, even if the user has confirmed that the script files in the data directory are the latest, we cannot ensure that these translators are updated correctly in the connector (because there is always a certain time difference when synchronizing to the connector). I hope to display the latest update time of the translator in a corner of the connector pop-up so that both myself and the user can quickly determine the version of the translator being used.
