When the language of a publication is set in Zotero (in its Language field), the LibreOffice extension nevertheless imports the citation with text set to the main language of the LO document. If the language of the publication differs from the main language of the document, this then causes LibreOffice to regard the citation as wrongly spelled (e.g. marking the entire citation with red underlining).
A screenshot is provided where Russian-language citations were imported from Zotero into a LO document with the main language set to “English (UK)”. In spite of the Language field for all of these publications set to Russian in Zotero (I tried “Russian” and the ISO 639 tags “ru” and “rus”), the Zotero extension for LibreOffice does not set these passages to language “Russian”:
