Or rename the highlight one and use the same template for both? Or just use the highlight one, despite the name…

The easiest way is to reuse the same 'highlight' variable. This way, we don’t need to update the default template in prefs, and anyone with a custom template won’t need to change anything either. If that’s not enough, we’ll add a new variable for underlines in future Zotero versions.
