Ability to set custom package.json path

Created a new pull request from a new fork to keep the PR clean.

I think something like this would be good to have since the plugin is unusable for me currently. If this is not the preferred way I'll be happy to make changes

Happy to merge! there are some other changes happened to sever's index.js, can you please pull those changes and validate your stuff still works?
