Editor does not report when you can't access a folder due to permissions. #982

steps to reproduce: 1) Open text editor 2) Navigate to a directory where you do have permission 3) try to expand a folder/directory you dont have permission result:

UI gives no feedback at all
network tab contains 403 errors, so the UI is not turning those into anything the user can see.

does this happen when apiml is/isnt used? could the error response be different?
