OS X: Unable to encode from external drive #164

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Try to play something which needs encoded from external drive (in my
case a FW800-disk).
2. Same file works fine from internal drive.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected is to see the movie. Instead I get "The data is corrupted" message.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.02.1 on Mac OS X

If you are transcoding a media file, which engine are you using (mencoder,
avisynth/mencoder, tsmuxer?)
Mencoder

If the media file is in error (or does not play flawlessly), what are the
codec informations of this file (you can use following program:
mediainfo.sourceforge.net) ?
Non relevant, plays fine from internal drive.

I am having the same problem. I notices that, if my external (USB) drive was
"sleeping", the PSM did not wake it
up. So, I opened any file on the external drive and than ran PSM and it worked
fine...

I'm not sure it's a definitive solution, but it's working for now.

Is this still an issue? Never encountered this myself. Make sure you drive is
mounted, that is not something PMS will or should do.
