On my Mediaserver I have an archive of my private pictures. This is a backup
copy of
my main photo archive to have worst case backup. I do not want to accidently
delete
images/files there. So it would be cool to check this single share as readonly.
So
P3MS would deny write access even if the PS3 offers to delete files. However I
can't
just set the files themselvs to readonly via filesystem because I need to
re-sync
the files with the main archive from time to time.

the DLNA spec doesn't implement any delete commands, so if I were you, I will
be more
concerned about ps3mediaserver's security than the ps3 itself :)
besides, this kind of thing is totally OS centric, so I can't do much from the
Java
platform
