Problem after changing MEncoder subtitle codepage to a wrong codepage name #224

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
When changing the MEncoder codepage to a unknown codepage name, and trying
to change the codepage name later the new name is not saved. The PMS conf
file keeps the wrong codepage name.

Manually editing the PMS conf file with correct name resolves the problem.

For example when adding the subtitle codepage for Japanese as "shift-jis",
and saving settings this codepage is correctly saved, but MEncoder will
crash when trying to play content with a subtitle file (since the codepage
name is not supported). It is not possible to set the code page to the
correct value again ("sjis" is the correct codepage name for Japanese).

Suggestion add a dropdown list for supported codepages and (language name
examples in brackets)

It looks like the same is true when saving a correct codepage other than
default (the
new setting cannot be changed).

actually you have changed the codepage settings value for the ps3 filenames
(general
configuration tab), who is Cp850 by default...you don't have to change this
value !

actually it's a bug cause this option will disappear in next version
for subtitles codepage, you have to go in transcoding settings->mencoder conf
panel-
>subtitles codepage

Thanks! Everything works perfect with Japanese subtitles once sjis is set as
subtitle
codepage, i couldn't find the correct name for the encoding and bumped into the
problem.
My machine is Vista Ultimate with Japanese locale, my PS3 also has Japanese
codepage
in settings.

Looking forward to the next version!
