Energy Shields - YES, this mod is awesome. We're going to build something like this into our weapons/armor reboot, which is forthcoming end of this month / beginning of next. My major issue with the current implementation is that there's no visual effect, so people shooting at a shielded grid have no idea why the ship isn't taking damage. Unfortunately there are a fair number of bugs that can cause this too, as well as hacking, so without visual indicators people can be pretty confused and disheartened. We'll be working on that.
