Better alternative to Antigen #673

Open melMass opened 6 years ago

melMass commented 6 years ago

Antigen seems to be abandoned. I switched to Antibody for those looking for an alternative.

steinybot commented 5 years ago

In case anyone comes to this using antigen with babun then antibody will not work as it has not been compiled for windows. It likely works with bash and WSL.

melMass commented 5 years ago

@steinybot Good point I didn't know.

Only Linux, BSD, OSX available

Unfortunately antibody is deprecated 😢 I am switching to zinit.

steinybot commented 3 years ago

Zinit is great. I've been using it for a while now. It took me a while to get a hang of the configuration though. The documentation has gotten a lot better.

This link (removed) in your comment seems to redirect to something that at a minimum, ublock doesn't like.

Posting the github URL here for reference: https://github.com/zdharma/zinit

The documentation seems to be hosted on github.io now, here: zdharma.github.io/zinit/wiki/

Possibly related to the comment I'm replying to: https://github.com/zdharma/zinit/issues/494

For anyone else that stumbles upon this thread, it seems Zinit may also be deprecated now, at least based on https://github.com/zdharma/zinit

Zinit Legacy. Use ZI instead

https://z-shell.pages.dev/ refers to https://github.com/z-shell/ on GitHub, and seems to refer to these 3 repos as being the main places to look:

I haven't deeply explored/used any of this yet, so do your own research.

Now zinit is living here: https://github.com/zdharma-continuum/zinit

Since I keep stumbling my way back to this thread, here is an awesome-list of other zsh frameworks/plugin managers if the above don't suit peoples needs:
