Replacing original drive #9

I have two drives in my machine.

  1. Samsung EVO 970 1TB (Linux install)
  2. Crucial P3 500GB (Replaced the original drive)

Since the drive that comes with the 9500 is not compatible with MacOS, I bought a new drive to install MacOS on.

I can boot into Monterey fine with a USB stick with opencore. For the USB stick, I simply formatted it as FAT32 and copied the BOOT/OC contents from this repo and downloaded the recovery data.

After I installed Monterey on the drive, I used MountEFI to mount the EFI partition of the drive I installed MacOS on and copied BOOT/OC to the EFI folder there. Now I am getting this when I try to boot from the new drive by pressing f12 and choosing the opencore option on the new drive.

Any ideas?

I was able to fix this by booting with gparted, killing the EFI partition, creating a new FAT32 and marking it with esp+boot flags. Copied in the files and presto.
