Hi @valpa001 -- It sounds like perhaps you downloaded the .amxd directly from github, or only copied the .amxd from the cloned repository to elsewhere on the computer then added that to your Live set. In that case, required additional files would be missing, such as those that support the vertical faders.
Max and Max for Live have a facility called "Freezing" which compiles all of the needed support files into one .amxd file. That is what I put in the Releases section, as well as in the downloadable .zip files on my site (https://steinkamp.us/music-tools).
You can also use the frozen files from the repository under the frozen/
directory.
So could you confirm if you are using the frozen version? If not, you need to add the .amxd to your Live set directly from the cloned repository, so that it may find all of its required dependencies.
Also could you please point me to where others are expressing this problem? I'd like to make sure I'm present wherever needed.

Hi,
Sorry, I tried everything (delete amxd, cleaning, etc.) all that you recommended (except recompiling device, as I don’t know how to do it, i do not program mfl only use devices). Yes I have used freezing version, but nevertheless the vertical faders no longer work. Only the main horizontal fader works and correctly recognizes the track and name. It's very strange because the first time I installed this product, everything worked perfectly. what i can say is that the knobbler v5 recognizes the iPad without any issue, it synchronizes perfectly, but I don’t know why it no longer works as v1. I haven’t changed anything in my setup.
thank's for your help.
Hi @valpa001 --
Hmm, sorry you're having this trouble. I just re-downloaded the latest from https://steinkamp.us/zip/zs-m4l-Control.zip, extracted the .zip, then dragged the Knobbler4-v5.amxd
file into my Live Set and it worked properly for the horizontal (Current Param Knob) and vertical (Knobbler / Bluhand) functions.
To help me troubleshoot your problem, could you send a couple of things?
Thanks! -zs
hi Zach
A screenshot of Knobbler4 (ipad is correctly detected, the port is ok)
it seems curious this issue on port 2346 (I don't use it !) TouchOSC send port = 2346 , receive Port = 2347 I'm using RtpMIDI which works fine ! Knobbler4 is communicating correctly with Ipad because when I move the current macro on Ableton it move correctly on horizontal fader Knobbler4 , color and name track is fully fonctionnal when I change track , it change correctly on the horizontal fader.
thank's for you help

- A screenshot of Knobbler4 in your Live set, showing the title bar
- Right-click the Knobbler4 titlebar and choose "Open Max Window". Could you send a screenshot of that window?
Thanks! -zs

Hi @valpa001 -- Can you try again with the screenshots? This is what I see:
Hi Zach,
here's the screenshots
Perhaps something to try is to use the IP address of the iPad instead of the hostname?
You can get it a couple of ways -- either by looking at the Settings app in the WiFi properties, or in TouchOSC in the connections menu, pressing the (i) icon next to receive port. It will be the address that is not "lo0". In most cases it will start with "192.168..." or "10....".
Happy to look at more screenshots to help diagnose this!
Another possiblity -- If you have Max open, that can interfere with the device in Live receiving the OSC messages over the WiFi. Just ran into that here.
Hello Zack,
thank's for your reply unfortunately , my computer use dynamic ip address, so I have to use the hostname , but I will do the test to see. I use RtpMidi and ethernet cables (not wifi) latency between Ipad and my PC is near from 0ms, as I use synths on Ipad, driven by Ableton I do not program max devices, only use them.

Hi,
I've reinstalled everything exactly as explained in the procedure, but in TouchOsc, only the horizontal fader is working (it correctly recognizes the track name and the value is working well), while none of the vertical faders work anymore. In the initial version, everything was working perfectly. It seems that others are also experiencing this issue. I'm using Ableton 11 and the last version of TouchOsc.
