Notepad2 (both 32-bit and 64-bit) works under Wine, port to Qt or GTK will need some work to split current code to platform independent parts and platform dependent parts; maybe need convert to C++ (all C code is already compilable as C++ since 300c7c1949c940edf85fb3f91695623995589e34).
SciTE has a GTK version. https://www.scintilla.org/SciTE.html
i have think more to be in linux and have a "notepad2" (note[tabtab] pat2 [enter])binary, wine is clear :) well, c++ why not, (is qt not c++?) is a c++ more bigger as c only ? there gives already a "mousepad" but this have not the scintilla into :\ because this could be notepad2 the perfectly editor also in Linux. this could be a racer/hit in the linuxworld and i guess linuxprogrammer could help on this part, if you have also a /notepad2-linuxbin if you have the first versions out and the program become prominent could it be, a couple linux coding dudes could come and want help .
the name "scintilla" is to complex and a finger crusher, there is notepad2 more easy in this case and more easy to remember..

That's may not true, their native editors, gedit and kate have multi-tab (issue #165) and spell checking, plugins, etc.
and kate is to huge.. big and is in plasma not so fast as should .. hmm.. gedit had i forgot ..... but .. i be a bit a fan from notepad2.. and this is it also to want have it also in Linux.. in my case OpenMandriva .. or Fedora..
maybe could you add a repo with a Notepad2 Linux Plan :)
Could you use wine?
at fedora and more as20 Years experiences with Dos5.0 with IPX, Win311^ and Suse 3.4, redhat 6 and mandrake^ ? with my own Webpage blackysgate.de and a php-filemirror in php.. well... hmmmmmm...... what is if i have not installed Wine.. or i want wine not..
so why not as native .... an notepad2 under QT (because it is c lang too) .. which is why I asked, if it's moveable to QT with QT Creator or so ? it is exist only "mousepad" in this direction, the other is easy to "overfilled/loaded" and typing in "notepad2" in console feel's like more home as "kate" or "kedit" whitch is a bit overfilled and so.. and notepad have his own flair/feeling if you know what i mean.. would nice if have notepad2 also in different linux derivates
Hi,
it's possible to have binary for using in Linux ? just a ask, because i jump around between OpenMandriva and WinNT, there would be grade to have also a rpm or a binary for linux to have a lightwight but good editor in Gui to play around with bashscripts, Kwrite and Kate hast become to fad and heavy.. bahh..
