Checking today (12Dec2011) for the latest and commended version of MCL
(presumably the last now that Lion is out and Rosetta is not supported), I
installed the version that is within the MCLIDE 1.0b4 bundle. It seems still to
be MCL 5.2b6, so I'll assume MCL 5.2b6 = MCL 6. (the Get Info dialog shows it
as version 5.2b6, but it boots up as Macintosh Common Lisp Version
6.0-ec3bbf18dc).
This can be copied out of MCLIDE-1 to stand alone as a valid MCL environment
and API. It seems to run OK under MacOS 10.6.8 (with rosetta of course) on
MacIntel. It can be driven from MCLIDE-1 or MCLIDE-2.
For those with legacy code that will only run on MCL, a solution might be to
use a Mac Mini with Snow Leopard as host, and MCLIDE-2 as interface and API on
MacOS Lion.
