Screen turns black when mouse not moving #25

Your Issue:

Screen will turn black when mouse not moving for about 5 sec. Also, when you hit the keyboard it will go dark immediately.

Your device's full specs

CPU: Intel Xeon e3-1230v3
GPU: NVIDIA GTX 1060

Your OS version (cat /etc/os-release | grep VARIANT_ID | cut -d '"' -f 2):

(Only for SteamOS Session loading issues) Have you tried launching gamescope-session from terminal? If yes, provide a log.

No. What is "steamos session" exactly?

Have you updated your installation recently?

Yes, but it won't.
I chose to apply the update, but after a reboot I found it still reminding me to upgrade.

I'm sorry, this is a known issue that can happen, i'll build a test ISO soon which may hopefully fix this.

Very interesting, because i have a GTX 1060 too and it's working fine... (Only goes black if there's no input for a longer time) Tough with a R5 7600, but the iGPU is disabled.

Hi, I fixed this by enabling dev settings and toggling on “force compositor”. It still has some shenanigans from time to time, but now it’s 10% of the time instead of 90%
