Port a newer GCC? #13

GCC 3.x is quite old; perhaps a newer compiler should be retargeted for the ZPU

Hello Ronsor,

that is a great idea, that I also have in back of my head for a couple of years now. But I have no greater knowledge of the gcc compiler and how to adapt it for the zpu.

Maybe you can drop some lines here on mailing list, if you have a new gcc port, which need to be tested.

I would recommend writing an LLVM backend, rather than a GCC backend.
