Zeth

Zeth is a Reth-based sequencer node for the Polygon Type 1 zkEVM. It facilitates witness generation that can be used as input to the Polygon prover. The project supports both SQLite and PostgreSQL backends for witness persistence.

Features

Installation

To install Zeth, follow these steps:

  1. Clone the Repository:

    git clone https://github.com/fractal-zkp/zeth.git
    cd zeth
  2. Build the Project:

Use Cargo to build the project in release mode:

    cargo build --release

Usage

Once the project is built, you can run a development node with the following command:

./target/release/zeth node --dev --dev.block-max-transactions 1

This command runs a development node with a maximum of one transaction per block.

Note: If you receive the following error - Error: Failed to open database connection: error returned from database: (code: 14) unable to open database file then you must create the default sqlite database file by running touch polygon-zero.db.

Submit transactions to the rpc hosted at http://127.0.0.1:8545 with chain id 1337 using one of the test accounts associated with the test seed:

test test test test test test test test test test test junk

Prove the blocks using zero-bin, see the README.
