Can fex be available on Homebrew or as a tap to install? I dislike having to install zig to build fex or to manually install binaries.

Yup, those will be added in due time.

Meanwhile there's the install.sh script (ref) it should set up fex for you. (Only works for Linux x86_86 and Darwin aarch64 as of now)
