Upon refresh, site goes black. #2

About every 5 seconds, when fiftystat.es refreshes its wordmap, the site becomes completely black, requiring a refresh.

Using: Firefox Stable 47.0.1

Edit: Same issue on Firefox Stable 48.0

Does the problem persist if you wait a couple seconds? It shouldn't do that (put that on my tombstone,) and dosen't on chrome.

It should be waiting for the image to load before it shows the new one/destroys the old one. Can you check your JS console for errors?

It does on chrome actually, kevin had the same issue.

I get the Type Error: document.getDocumentById(...) when the site tries to call update()

Edit: The issue persists for over 10 minutes, I closed it at that point because I had better things to do.
