Debian packaging is more important to me at the moment, and IIRC, it's pretty easy to do. I may try to tackle this one at some point unless you beat me to it.

Please add tests for the gem. Currently, the spec directory contains only the file minitest_helper.rb. Tests help us to check whether the gem works as expected.
