Ads still show up but are unable to play. This causes them to stop playback of music and sometimes makes it so I can't get Spotify working anymore no matter how much I refresh or click on other items.

The issue is that ads are not being blocked on Spotify.

The only reason I got Adguard was for Spotify. I really hope I haven't had a support ticket open since JANUARY only to now be told that Adguard doesn't block ads anymore.

Audio ads on Spotify every few tracks. Very similar to the YouTube issue where sometimes there are random ads without video part. I was never able to reliably reproduce it on YouTube, but on Spotify. HAR file attached. Honestly, I did not check for filter updates directly before this, but since I experienced the same on YouTube for many months now, I assume it's unchanged. To save you for checking the filter list: It's all filters except "ABP Japanese Filters" (too many false positives due to trivial word-only filters).

It's not easy to check, because these ads occurs very rarely on my end, but unfortunately this rule doesn't work. This rule works on my end: ||audio-akp-spotify-com.akamaized.net/audio/$media,mp4,important,domain=spotify.com but I don't know if it will not break video player as I don't have access to it and I don't know if it is available in Spotify in web browser - https://github.com/AdguardTeam/AdguardFilters/issues/10141

Regarding extension, you can check this rule: ||audio-akp-spotify-com.akamaized.net/audio/$media,domain=spotify.com but player may stuck if two similar requests in a row will be blocked.

Well, then get going releasing a Linux version! :D For me it happens after about 10 tracks, sometimes 3, sometimes 30, but usually not that much. It "helps" to skip the tracks by forwarding to the end (not the skip button, I think).

@AdamWr With that rule, it gets stuck when trying to play an ad. The image and title on the left are missing, but it loads the duration and apparently tries to load the ad infinitely.

Now it just seems to freeze the tab whenever an ad wants to play. This is much preferred over just playing the ad, but it's of course still a bug.

What do you mean by freeze the tab? Now these ads are redirected to 1 second empty mp4 file, so if there are two ads in a row, then there will be about 2 seconds delay between songs, but I can't reproduce any "freeze".

What I mean is that everything in the tab stops responding, not even Ctrl+R for reloading works anymore. And it definitely does not play the next track.

These ads appears not so often, but if ads are blocked then you should see blocked requests in filtering log, like on a screenshot below

When having Adguard enabled, Spotify is able of playing a song in the browser. However, it does not automatically play the next song after the previous one ended (like it should). Spotify moves on to the next song (the seconds from the previous song will remain), nothing will be played.

When having Adguard disabled however, I am not able of playing songs AT ALL. I can load the website, but music won't play when clicking the button.

I just listened to Spotify again for the first time in a long while. Ads seem to get replaced with ~1s silent audio files. The image for the ad pops up at the left, but then disappears again. This repeats a few times and then the next track from the playlist plays. Seems like that's how it's supposed to work.

Active filters: All in "ad blocking", all except third party fonts in "privacy", all in "social widgets", all except obsolete in "annoyances", all in "security", all except self-promotion in "other", both German ones in "language-specific", as well as some auto-activated ones: Dutch, French, Japanese, Russian, Bulgarian, "List-KR".

Can anyone else confirm still hearing ads on Spotify or seeing them for more than a second? Otherwise this report should be closed.

When adblock is enabled I can’t open shared links to spotify songs and playlists.

I’ve made a whitelist entry https://open.spotify.com/ But it doesn’t work

It's not a visual issue really. Just previously AdGuard has blocked Spotify audio adds in the browser player without a problem. Now whenever Spotify tries to play an audio ad it's still blocked but it freezes and doesn't continue onto the next song. Spotify recently updated their browser player so it seems to have to do with that change.

Spotify da müzik dinlerken durduk yere spotify duruyor ve sayfayı yenileyip başka bir çalma listesi seçene kadar yeniden başlamıyor. 1 Hafta öncesine kadar sorunsuz bir şekilde spotify reklamları engelleniyordu. Hala engelliyor ama sesli reklam gelince bu dediğim sorun oluşuyor.

Whenever Spotify has to play some sort of ads after their songs it will block the ad but then the player itself will stop and not play anymore songs until you refresh and keep playing again. I don't mind doing it every now and then but with their most recent update it's becoming more and more annoying as ads happen after every 2 songs.
