Ads still show up but are unable to play. This causes them to stop playback of music and sometimes makes it so I can't get Spotify working anymore no matter how much I refresh or click on other items.

It seems it's fixed now. Will edit this comment if i face with this issue again.

Cannot check with my VPN - geo blocking. @AdamWr Do you have spotify account?

As I recall those "freezes" are related to this issue - https://github.com/AdguardTeam/AdguardBrowserExtension/issues/1576#issuecomment-610308784
