Added an option to choose what is appended to the log file's name (if anything) when rolled
Added an option to choose whether the log is gzipped or not
Now puts logs into a sub-folder by month for organization's sake (eg. 11-2012 for November, 2012)

Very nice! A nested directory structure like 2012/11/ may be even more useful.

I considered that, but I figured for the time being, this will be enough. After this is merged, you can change that if you like.

Added experimental progress bar using pv - still some work that has to be done here working out some bugs.
