Provide better LDAP error messages [TLF: 2, 12] #4900

Currently we just give a fail/success status, without any information about going on. This makes it very hard to debug the system. Better error messages, and a tool for debugging LDAP configurations would be desired.

Let's skip the LDAP configuration tool, but rather give better feedback on how the tool behaves.
