Well go for the second option.
I forgot that if the niDaq XOP is present, using the installer won't remove it (or the related functionality). Therefore, I propose we close this issue. The MP2 issues with the missing niDaq XOP had me climbing up the wrong tree.

We can't ship the NIDAQmx XOP to users. Therefore we don't include it in the release package or the installer.
But for AI-internal users it would be beneficial to have a convenient way to install with NIDAQmx.
