This is an open source hardware resistive soil moisture sensor.
Resistive soil moisture sensors have a lot of disadvantages and they are vulnerable to corrosion. It is higly recommended to use capacitive soil moisture sensor instead!
This resistive soil moisture sensor was designed with the first prototype of ANAVI Gardening uHAT in 2017. After that, the project was put on hold for several years. In 2021 we revived ANAVI Gardening uHAT using Microchip MCP3002 analog-to-digital converter (ADC) and 3rd party low-cost capacitive soil-moisture sensors made of corrosion-resistant materials.
The project is released under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0).
