A simple feature that would be amazing is the ability to make the message be persistent. I want a simple status message for how my power network is doing without needing to locate a single tile message block and without having to code up a custom message API that makes use of multiple displays.
As far as I can the "Control: Enabled" block has no effect on the message block. It should be fairly simple to map 1/0 to require hover or simply have the message be displayed persistently.

Reduces the skill ceiling by not requiring advanced logic to provide basic text displays through the use of the display block.
If players want to get fancy with icons, The display block remains available.
This method would not require adding in direct text capabilities to the display block
